Hyderabad: 5-day Faculty Development Programme conducted

Hyderabad: A Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Introduction to Programming: A Pedagogical Approach" is being held at Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology (VNRVJIET). This FDP will be a 5-day hands-on training programme, which is sponsored by the MEITy under the Ministry of ICT of the Government of India, is being organised jointly by the Electronics & ICT Academy at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna and the Department of ECE along with the Professional chapters of IEEE, ISTE, and IETE at VNRVJIET.

Dr Y Sagar, Associate Professor-CSE and one of the coordinators for the FDP, said that this course is essentially aimed at faculty members in Electronics Engineering-related disciplines and is delivered through a hands-on, pedagogical approach to familiarise them with programming concepts, which can help them implementing programming for various research applications in their domain.

Dr Amey Karkare of IIT-Kanpur shall be the resource person during this FDP. Dr Sagar added. The programme is being attended by about 50 faculty members from the departments of ECE, EIE, EEE, and CSE while A Madhavi, Assistant Professor-CSE, coordinated the event along with Dr Sagarand Dr Bharat Gupta, Assistant Professor-ECE at NIT-Patna, and Dr Pushpa Giri, Assistant Professor-ECE, was the point of contact at VNRVJIET.
