Web entertainment that's exclusively Telugu

A whole new range of original web series in Telugu will be launched on Sony LIV' s new Telugu App to entertain the online audience of the two Telugu States. During the launch, the cast from the original web series that will be streamed on the App, 'Bhajana Batch' directed by Maruthi, were present. Getup Srinu, who plays a major role in the series narrates, "We started the shoot of this series long back. We did 14 episodes, and then we understood that this would definitely be a hit and continued to do more. This is complete comedy series that would entertain the Telugu audience." The series features Mental Krishna in a prominent role.

Apart from the comedy genre there are romantic web originals that can be watched on the app. 'Mymarapu' is a love story which was shot completely in the US. The trailer of the series is already launched to good response. The lead actress Gaana gave a peek into the plot, "It has a very different twist than the regular love story and one of the best things is that this was completely shot in the US. The series has around seven episodes, I play the lead role Shreya and it was fun working with the team. Since the location is San Francisco, this could be one of the beautiful series one could watch."

Sharing details Uday Sodhi, Business Head Digital, Sony Pictures Networks India said, "What we have realised over the last few months is that the content consumption has become very large. And apart from the Hindi and English languages, Telugu has become the third largest used language and the Smartphone penetration in Telangana and Andhra is very high, and the content is excellent. We partnered with some of the best producers in the market and brought 20 to 39 channels into the app and we have also e-sports, which will offer Telugu commentary."
