A plateful of happiness
Anchor Ravi as he is popularly known as, is super happy with back to back shows, web series and a lot more on his plate
It has been a decade since Ravi began his career as a television host. With lots of ups and downs, challenges, risks and competition, he proved his mettle on the small screen and even tried his luck on the silver screen too. Currently, Ravi's schedule is packed and he is busy shooting for back to back shows, web series and a lot more that are on his plate. Talking with Sunday Hans in an exclusive interview, Ravi shares details about his current projects, career, family and a lot more.
What are busy with, currently? Which shows are you doing?
I recently started doing a show called 'Adirindhi', a comedy show on Zee Telugu. It is super fun! I am in talks with ETV for a show and that will go on floors soon. Working for a web series, yet again and excited for it too. Trying my luck for a film once again. The shoot is ongoing.
Your debut film couldn't do well at the box office. So how well have you prepared for the second one?
The first one, it is kind of amateurish. I did not have much knowledge about films and acting for films. There were a lot more aspects, which led to its failure. Surprisingly, the songs did much better than the film. Yes. I have learnt a few things from the previous experiences. I have prepared well for my second film. I, and the team have been shooting since last six months for this film and in a month or so, the project will be wrapped up too. It is based on true incidents and has a retro touch to it.
A decade in the television industry. How has the journey been?
It has been an amazing journey. A place, a field and a profession where I have learnt everything that is needed to survive in the industry here and good enough lessons for a lifetime. I have met many people, made some good relations that last forever. I have gained confidence and got the chance to make a mark for myself.
You have kept details about your wife and daughter under wraps for a long time until recently. Is there any particular reason?
It was my personal choice to keep details about my family, undisclosed. I never wanted my professional and personal life to be mixed up. Also, I never thought it was necessary to reveal.
But rumours that I am in relationship with a couple of my fellow female hosts have gone to such an extent, that I was worried I would affect my family. So, it was a collective family decision to reveal their photographs and honestly, that has put an end to those rumours. Glad that most people have stopped talking ill about me.
What are your future plans?
Since childhood, I always wanted to entertain people. I am glad I have been doing that. I just want to continue the same, forever, and as long as I can. I am thankful to all the audiences who have encouraged me.
