We kept our love under wraps, says Nithiin
Young actor Nithiin admitted that they planned to keep their love story away from the media attention as his media-shy fiancée Shalini wanted it to be secret. "It is true that it is difficult to keep the love of celebrities under wraps but we managed to do it. Actually, I met her in 2012, through a common friend and our friendship blossomed into love over the years," says the actor to the media on Wednesday. "Last year, we informed our parents and they agreed for our marriage," he adds. The lover boy in films like 'Jayam' and 'Ishq' didn't propose to her in a cinematic fashion. "Frankly, I didn't pre-plan anything. It was just a moment that I wanted to capture and proposed to her with just a flower and not even a bouquet and it clicked," he says, with a glint of pride.
He doesn't believe in destiny but found luck helping an actor's career. "A dash of luck is required to deliver hits consistently," he reasons. After few flops, the actor took a break to return with a bang. "Bheeshma' is a perfect entertainer with loads of romance, comedy and action. I thought my earlier movie 'Lie' would do well but it didn't. So, I took a break to re-work on my selection of movies and now lined up movies that are as different as chalk and cheese. After 'Bheeshma,' I am doing a different film 'Check' with director Chandrasekhar Yeleti," he informs. He doesn't mind criticism because critics keep actors on their toes to choose scripts bereft of flaws. "Critics have no personal grudges and just pinpoint loopholes in their reviews. We have become cautious and picking water-tight scripts," he explains.
The 'A Aa' actor admits that his upcoming film, a remake of Hindi blockbuster 'Andhadhun,' would be risky. "We are taking it up as a challenge since it is a path-breaking script overlooking the risk factor," he states. Coming back to 'Bheeshma', he says that he plays a 'meme creator' and loved 'dancing' in the movie. He is happy to leave the 'most eligible bachelor' list in T-town. "My colleagues like Rana are poking me, but I have decided to marry since it is already late as I am 35 years now," he points out.
Finally, he claims that he has been a big fan of superstar Pawan Kalyan and doesn't mind the trolls. "From my first film 'Jayam' to 'Ishq' to my latest 'Bheeshma' I have been using his songs or references because I admire him. No one can change that," he says firmly. BVS
