Voting In India, It Is Catch 22 Situation Says Alia Bhatt
While the entire nation was busy voting and urging everyone to practice their democratic right and vote, Raazi actress Alia Bhatt was missing from action, she didn't vote because she couldn't not, as she is not an Indian citizen.
Present at the special screening of mother Soni Razdan's upcoming film Yours Truly, actress Alia Bhatt opened up about her voting debate and admitted that she is not an Indian.
When asked about not being able to vote, Alia Bhatt said, "It is catch 22, yeah, of course I would love to vote but there is a technical situation, due to which currently it is not possible for me to vote"
"Hopefully, maybe in the future it could be a dual citizenship or whatever, maybe something or the other would work out. But I am glad that everybody went out in such big numbers and voted" added Alia.
Alia Bhatt is not the only actor in Bollywood, who couldn't vote, the list is long and shocking. Names like Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sunny Leone and many more cannot vote in India, as they hold different citizenships.
Meanwhile on the work front, post Kalank, actress Alia Bhatt is busy with two massive projects, Brahmastra and RRR.
Brahmastra is an upcoming fantasy film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles and will serve as the first film in a planned trilogy.
RRR is scripted and directed by S. S. Rajamouli. It stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr.,Ram Charan Teja, Nithya Menen and Ajay Devgn in a cameo.
It is based on the lives of freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. The movie's story is a fictional retelling of their life during their self-imposed exile.
