Niharika Konidela bi-lingual takes off

Tollywood: Helmed by Swathini, an erstwhile Assistant Director to Tamil film director Suseenthiran, the Tamil- Telugu bi-lingual film of hero Ashok Selvan ( whose ' Oh My Kadavule' was a hit recently) was launched with a song recording. There were the usual Insta posts announcing it.

The heroine, from the famed Konidela family, has already made a debut in Tamil two years ago and has been seen in a few in Telugu too, with her last appearance being in her uncle's 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy'.

Along with Sudha Kongara, there are more woman directors making a mark in Tamil cinema. In the 1990s, there was B R Vijayalakshmi, daughter of the legendary B R Panthulu who directed a few films and was noted for her sensitive portrayal of characters.

The new film, as the producer says, would be released five months from the time when the pandemic-affected scenario is declared normal.
