Chiru in pro Hindutva movie?

Update: 2020-03-01 22:23 IST

After fighting for farmers in 'Khaidi No 150' and against Britishers in 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy,' megastar Chiranjeevi will be reportedly taking on atheists and land mafia to protect Hindu temples in his 152nd movie being helmed by Koratala Siva. "It is a fight for Hindu temple lands and he subtely propagates pro-Hindutva ideology in this action entertainer," says a source, close to the unit.

The actor will be seen in two distinct looks as Govind and Acharya in the big budget flick. Set in the backdrop of Srikakulam, the film is about a middle-aged Naxalite-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the Endowments Department over misappropriation and embezzlement of temple funds and donations. "Chiranjeevi is a god-believer and a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman.

So, he connected to this story, inspired by true-life incidents, since he feels that Hindu temples have to be protected at all costs. Because they are part of rich Hindu culture and tradition," the source adds. The art department has already built two sets replicating a middle-class colony in Kokapet and are also contemplating the construction of another set resembling the Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple.

Trisha has been roped in as the female lead for the film produced by Niranjan Reddy of Matinee Entertainment, in association with Ram Charan's Konidela Productions.

We have to see whether members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) and Bajrang Dal will support and hail this movie in the days to come.
