Tamil remake of Vijay Deverakonda hit movie Pellichoopulu goes to sets
Young Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda is a name to reckon with not just in Tollywood but across the Indian film industries. How can we forget late actress Sridevi's daughter Jahnvi Kapoor expressing her desire to work with the latest Telugu sensation saying he was hot? Now, even though Vijay Deverakonda became a household name after his bold role as a young disillusioned doctor in Arjun Reddy which was a runaway hit, his performance in the romantic comedy Pelli Choopulu which released before Arjun Reddy too was much talked about. The new actor's talent was discussed in movie circles saying here was an actor to watch out for. Now, Pelli Choopulu is being remade in Tamil. The film went to sets today and Harish Kalyan has been chosen to reprise Deverakonda's role in the Tamil remake. Priya Bhavani Shankar will play the female lead. Debutante Kaarthikk Sundar will be wielding the megaphone in this movie which revolves around the concept of arranged marriage in India.
Speaking at the Muhurat function, director Sundar said that he was mighty impressed with Pelli Choopulu since the day he watched it and that very day decided to remake the movie. He also added that the Tamil version of Pelli Choopulu will be a faithful remake except for a few changes here and there to make it palatable to the Tamil audience.
