Dr Rajasekhar to take over '2 States'?
Seasoned star Dr Rajasekhar and his wife and producer Jeevitha are reportedly in talks with producer M L V Satyanarayana to take over Telugu film '2 states', remake of Hindi film with same title, which marks the debut of their daughter Shivani, who will be romancing Adivi Sesh in this adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel, 2 States: The Story of My Marriage.
"Unhappy with the slow progress and due to creative differences with director Venkat, erstwhile assistant V V Vinayak, Dr Rajsekhar and his wife are holding discussions with producer and director and are planning take over the project, by paying off the budget spent till date," says a source, close to the unit.
Even though the film was extensively shot in Kolkata and Hyderabad, the star couple are disappointed with the outcome. "There is a major schedule in US and the couple want to hire a crazy director to take the project forward, to give the film the much-needed lavishness and visual-pleasing scenes and dish out a blockbuster," the source adds.
In fact, director Vinayak had to send his team for negotiations to enable the smooth transition of the film from one hand to another.
"Jeevitha who pumped in money for her hubby's movies, will now take up the task of boosting the career of her daughter since she knows that the first film will make or break the career of debutant's in T-town these days." the source concludes.
