LIC elevates Gupta, Kumar as MDs

Hyderabad: Insurance behemoth Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Saturday announced that Mukesh Kumar Gupta and Raj Kumar took charge as new Managing Directors.

Prior to taking over charge as MD, Mukesh Kumar Gupta was the Executive Director (Personnel). Earlier, he was Zonal Manager(I/C), Central Zone, Bhopal.

His other key postings include Executive Director (Bancassurance and Alternate Channels), Director(Management Development Centre), Regional Manager (Marketing),Western Zone, Mumbai. He also held prominent positions such as Senior Divisional Manager of Amritsar and Hyderabad, LIC said in a release.

Coming to Raj Kumar, the insurance company said he served the corporation in important positions such as Executive Director(International Operations), Chief Executive Officer, LIC Mutual Fund Asset Management Ltd, Zonal Manager (I/C), Central Zone, Bhopal, Executive Director(HRD-OD),Executive Director (Estate and Office Services), Chief (Customer Relationship Management) and Chief(Personnel). He also held prominent positions such Secretary (Personnel), Senior Divisional Manager (I/C) of Gorakhpur and Jaipur Divisions.

LIC said it already has two Managing Directors - T C Susheel Kumar and Vipin Anand. With the appointment of Mukesh Gupta and Raj Kumar, LIC now has its full quorum of four Managing Directors besides Chairman, it added.
