Hatsun setting up ice cream unit in TS

Hyderabad: Hatsun Agro Product Ltd is in the process of setting up ice cream manufacturing facility in the Sangareddy district and expected to commence the commercial operations in October this year, according to Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao.

Speaking at the review meeting with the HoDs of IT and Industries departments at the MCRHRD Institute here on Wednesday, he said Hatsun is investing Rs 207 crore in setting up the unit, which will be India's largest ice cream manufacturing facility. Hatsun will generate more than 250 direct and 250 indirect employment opportunities. The unit will also benefit more than 4,000 dairy farmers in Telangana.

The officials briefed KTR about the ice cream manufacturing unit. Telangana State has become an unavoidable destination for global investments, asserted KTR, while stating that many MNCs are keen on making major investments in the State.

Interacting with the officials during the review meeting, KTR stated that major companies from the food processing sector are keen to invest in Telangana and the announcements of the same will be made soon. He said that the Government would provide complete assistance to the companies which are willing to invest in the state.

KTR has instructed the officials to make plans towards decentralizing the IT sector in Hyderabd to ensure its growth is spread across the city. He stated that the efforts of the government to boost the IT sector in the tier-2 cities of the state are yielding good results. KTR will be inaugurating Karimnagar IT Tower on February 18, 2020.
