EaseMyTrip to rope in more hotels from TS

Hyderabad: Easy Trip Planners Private Limited, a Delhi-based online travel company which operates travel portal EaseMyTrip on Thursday said it is looking to expand the number of hotels available on their platform, for which they plan to onboard 70 per cent of the nearly 2,500 registered hotels present in Telangana.

At present, EaseMyTrip.com has around 800 hotels available for booking from Telangana.

Polly Sinha Dhar, VP, Corporate Sales, EaseMyTrip.com, said, "Hyderabad is popular among the travellers majorly for business related trips.

We are looking to tie up with business hotels offering stay to executive class. Also, for the tourists visiting the city, we plan to onboard budget friendly hotels."

However, Polly says that according to an available data, in India, the online hotel booking market is lower at $0.8 billion in 2014, compared to offline hotel booking at $5.2 billion, in the same period. By 2020, the online trend is expected to grow at a CAGR of 24.6 per cent to $3 billion, she adds.

The online travel aggregatorsaid itrecorded 20,000 hotel and flight bookings on its platform per day. In which, 90 per cent of the traction comes from bookings made on airline travel.

With regards to Telangana, EaseMyTrip.com has around 7.5 per cent users, with plans to increase the same by 20 per cent by end of 2019.
