YSRCP govt will solve problems of fishermen in Prakasam district: Mopidevi Venkataramana
YSRCP Rajya Sabha member Mopidevi Venkataramana said that the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's administration will be an example for the country. He participated in the congratulatory meeting of the Chairman and Directors of Chattada Srivaishnava Welfare, Development Corporation held at Guntur Convention Hall. Speaking on the occasion, he said that CM YS Jagan was working for the betterment of all castes in the state.
"There are 139 BC castes in the state and only four of them survive politically and economically. YS Jagan heard the problems of the leaders of the BC caste groups during the padayatra and got to know their status. Chairmens and directors have been appointed for 56 corporations with 139 Backward castes, to provide economic and political reconciliation including lower castes of the BC caste. Many states in the country are taking the decision of CM Jagan as an ideal, "Mopidevi said.
MP Mopidevi said several initiatives have been taken for the development of fishermen. "Andhra Pradesh is the number one producer of fisheries with few minor issues with the fishing process; we have already said that fishing should not be done with nets," he asserted. He opined that nets were being used due to lack of awareness. MP Mopidevi said the issue would be resolved among fishermen in Prakasam district.
