YS Jagan reviews over Vizag gas leak incident, directs officials to send victims to homes

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reviewed the measures taken after the gas leak in Visakhapatnam. Deputy CM Alla Nani, Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney and DGP Gautam Sawang were present at the meeting. Ministers Kannababu, Botsa Satyanarayana, Avanthi Srinivas, Dharmana Krishna Das, Collector Vinay Chand and Police Commissioner RK Meena from Visakhapatnam participated in the video conference. Ministers and officials briefed the chief minister on the steps taken after the gas leak accident.

The minister said that five of the 8 persons who had legal heir finalized in the families of the deceased were disbursed Rs. 1 crore and asserted that the rest would be paid once they return from outstation. However, CM Jagan ordered that all be given financial assistance within three days. The official has briefed Jagan over the sanitation works being done at the affected villages where the incident happened. They said that the works be completed by 4 pm. Ministers explained to Chief Minister Jagan that people were allowed to enter the city after 4 pm.

CM Jagan ordered ministers to stay in the villages where the gas leak accident took place. After the end of the sanitation programs, the CM suggested that all those who come to villages be served lunch a d ordered to pay Rs.10,000 to everyone including children and adults. In this backdrop, CM Jagan asked the volunteers to collect bank accounts of victims on Tuesday morning to disburse money.
