YS Jagan lays stone for Central Tribal University in Vizianagaram

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday laid the foundation stone for the Central Tribal University at Salur in Vizianagaram district a while ago in the presence of Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan


The chief minister will address at a public meeting in a while. Earlier, the chief has arrived in Vizianagaram from Gannavaram and laid stone for the university.

The university will be spread across 561.88 acres in Mentada and Dattirajeru mandals of Vizianagaram district. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 834 crores.

Addressing on the occasion, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that tribal university was made possible with the initiative of Prime Minister Modi and CM Jagan. He said the tribal university is being established with Rs. 2,000 crores. Stating that a six lane road is being constructed from Raipur to Visakha and spending Rs. 20,000 crores for housing the poor, the union minister said that although their parties are different they are working together in the matter of development.

He said that Centre gives utmost priority to mother tongue and commended bilingual textbooks in AP is commendable. AP Government gives priority to English and the tribal university will provide better future for poor students.
