Vijayawada: Municipal administration and urban development minister Botcha Satyanarayana urged the municipal commissioners in the state to work in co-ordination with the officials of town planning, public health and engineering for the good governance and delivery of services to the citizens. He addressed a one-day workshop organised by the department of municipal administration for municipal commissioners at a hotel here on Tuesday.

Satyanarayana asked the municipal commissioners to prepare action plan in their respective cities and towns and work in tandem with other departments for better delivery of services.

He warned that he would not tolerate corruption and reminded that the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had sent a clear message to the people of the state that he would not tolerate corruption and misrule. He said the state needs corruption-free and transparent rule.

Satyanarayana said ward and village volunteers will start functioning from August 15 onwards and asked the commissioners to take steps for the delivery of services to the people. He said one volunteer will be appointed for every 50 households. Municipal commissioners discussed sanitation, public health, engineering works and other subjects in the one-day workshop.
