Western Prakasam extends support to YSRCP again

Ongole: The election result announced on Thursday proved that the voters from the western area of Prakasam district showed that their support for the YSR Congress Party continues to exist, even though the candidates are changed at their will or on party request. After the launching of YSRCP, its candidates contested in 2014 and 2019 elections.

In 2014, the YSRCP won in Yerragondapalem, Markapuram, and Giddalur but lost at Darsi with just 0.80 and at Kanigiri with 4.53 per cent of votes difference. As time moves on, the Yerragondapalem and Giddalur MLAs deserted the YSRCP and joined TDP.

In 2019 elections, the YSRCP offered tickets to Santhanuthalapadu sitting MLA Adimulapu Suresh to contest from Yerragondapalem, last time defeated Burra Madhusudan Yadav to contest from Kanigiri, newly joined Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy to contest from Markapuram, Anna Rambabu from Giddalur and Maddisetty Venugopal from Darsi Assembly constituencies. The voters from these constituencies proved once again that the YSRCP has stronghold on the Western Prakasam district, by electing all of the five candidates with good margin.

Suresh won with a majority of 31,632 votes against Budala Ajitha Rao and Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy won with 18,667 votes majority over Kandula Narayana Reddy, Burra Madhusudan Yadav with 40,903 votes majority over Dr Mukku Ugranarasimha Reddy, Maddisetty Venugopal with 39,057 votes over Kadiri Baburao while Anna Rambabu received more than 40 per cent extra votes than his opponent from TDP, Muthumula Ashok Reddy to get elected to Assembly.
