Water in dams adequate for 552 days for use in Tirumala: TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal
Tirumala: The available water in the 5 dams in Tirumala and also in Kalyani dam down the hills is sufficient for 552 days, said TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal.
Singhal along with TTD senior officials visited the twin dams Kumaradhara-Pasupudhara located in the deep forests 8 km away from Tirumala to perform Ganga Pooja as a gesture of thanks giving to God for bringing sufficient water into the dams.
Speaking on the occasion, EO said that Kumaradhara, Pasupudhara and Akasa Ganga are full to their capacities while Papavinasanam and Gogarbham registered 71% and 65% respectively, The water available in Tirumala Dams and Kalyani Dam at Tirupati will be sufficient for 552 days while the water available in Tirumala dams alone suffice for next 285 days, EO added. Addl. EO AV Dharma Reddy, chief engineer Ramachandra Reddy, CVSO Gopinath Jatti and others were present.
