Vizianagaram: 2.74 Lakh eligible for Rythu Bharosa scheme
Vizianagaram: Around 2,74,561 eligible farmers are selected from the district to avail Rythu Bharosa scheme. This year, 16,908 farmers are added to list of the previous year and the total amount of Rs 152.74 crore would be disbursed to farmers under the scheme.
Collector M Harijawaharlal on Friday participated in video-conference held with the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and explained the steps taken by the district administration to support the agriculture sector.
Later, the collector said that 624 Rythu Bharosa Kendrams were set up in the district and they would start functioning soon. All the RBKs would be converted as paddy purchasing centres in future.
Even some beneficiaries of welfare schemes also participated in the video-conference and lauded the government for its wonderful service and support to downtrodden people in such a lockdown period.
K Bangaramma, a farmer, said that Rythu Bharosa is very much helpful to the small farmers like her and the money can be spent on farm expenditure and they need not go to private lenders.
