Visakhapatnam: State to give top priority to farmers welfare
Visakhapatnam: The remarkable contributions made by former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will remain etched in people's memory forever, Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao said on Monday.
Garlanding the statue of YSR at Beach Road, the Minister said the welfare schemes launched by YSR stood as an example, benefiting scores of people.
Later, Srinivasa Rao participated in 'YSR Rythu Dinotsavam' meeting held at Sontyam, Anandapuram and took part in the cake-cutting ceremony organised by the YSRCP leaders. Speakers at the programme said that the State government would give top priority to the welfare of farmers. It was a celebration of sorts in Visakhapatnam as political leaders along with officials of various departments took part in the birth anniversary celebrations of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy here on Monday. MP MVV Satyanarayana, GVMC Commissioner G Srijana, YSRCP leader Dronamraju Srinivas, Gajuwaka MLA Tippala Nagi Reddy, Andhra University Registrar Byragi Reddy, among others paid tributes to YSR's statue.
