Vijayawada: Government keen to extend AIIMS-type medical care, says Special Chief Secretary Krishna Babu

Vijayawada (NTR district) : Medical Health and Family Welfare Special Chief Secretary MT Krishna Babu urged the doctors to ensure better medical services to the public by being available at hospitals.

He participated as a chief guest on the concluding day of the two-day administrative training programme for the Principals of Government Medical Colleges and Superintendents of all government hospitals, in Vijayawada on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Babu requested all the superintendents of hospitals and medical college principals for coordinated work to provide best medical services to the patients. He said that despite providing free medical services, results are not coming as expected. He also said that they were mulling providing medical services on the lines of AIIMS at all government hospitals. He stated that OP has to last till 2 pm and doctors should be available till 4 pm in the hospitals.

The special chief secretary informed that the government is constructing 17 medical colleges across the State. He also informed that pending bills of all Aarogyasri are being cleared.

DME Dr Narasimham, Academic DME Dr Satya Prasad, Deputy Director Karri Apparao and others participated.
