Vijayawada: Dist Collector inspects lands in Kotturu Tadepalli

Vijayawada: District Collector Mohammd Imtiaz along with Joint Collector Madhavi Latha and Sub-Collector Dhyana Chandra inspected the lands in Kotturu Tadepalli and Vemavaram villages for land acquisition on Wednesday.

He made this visit as part of the efforts to acquire land for distribution of house site pattas to the poor. He spoke to the local Revenue Department officials and farmers and enquired about the government lands available in the two villages. He was impressed with the scenic beauty of hill and Polavaram canal flowing amidst the villages.

The District Collector constituted a coordination committee and asked it to speed up efforts to acquire about 400 acres land in the two villages.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the district administration was trying to acquire 4573 acres land for the distribution of 2.71 lakh families in the district. The local farmers gave the details of the lands in the two villages, price etc.

He visited the village secretariat and spoke to the staff on the applications received at the 'Spandana' programme and number of grievances addressed. He questioned the staff as to why did they not arrange the chart displaying the services provided by the village secretariat.
