Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao re-launching Centre for Alluri Sitarama Raju History and Tribal Studies in Visakhapatnam on Thursday

Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao on Thursday underlined the need to appoint an advisory committee consisting of experts to give value addition to the Centre for Alluri Sitarama Raju History and Tribal Studies re-launched on Thursday.

The V-C sanctioned Rs 10,000 as startup fund to meet the immediate expenses of the centre.

Varsity rector M Prasada Rao recalled the remarkable contributions made by the freedom fighter. Prof V. Vijaya Lakshmi, who was appointed as Director of the centre, also spoke.

The programme was attended by Alluri's nephew, Principal of Dr B R Ambedkar College of Law S. Sumitra, Registrar K Niranjan, research scholars and students.
