United Forum of Bank Unions stages dharna in Ongole
Ongole: The leaders and members of various unions under the United Forum of Bank Unions organized a protest in front of the main branch of State Bank of India on Thursday evening.
The UFBU Convener V Ramachandra Rao said that they had participated in a strike on January 31 and February 1 for the response from the government and IBA on their demands, but the efforts are in vain. He said that the 10th pay scale revision concluded in October 2017 but the government is not coming forward for the implementation of the 11th pay scale with 20 percent hike and other demands. He also demanded the government to include the special allowance in the basic and reintroduce the old pension scheme for the bankers. He demanded that the government should implement the five working days in a week as promised earlier and take up recruitments to meet the workload and implementation of equal work hours. He said that they have also decided to go on strike on March 11, 12 and 13 if they didn't receive a favourable response from the government and will go on indefinite strike from April 1.
The AIBOA leader PK Rajeswara Rao, AIBEA leader U Venugopal, M Narendra Babu, Rakesh Kiran, Rajesh Khanna, NCBE leader Vijay Mohan and other trade union leaders also participated in the program.
