UGC team inspects facilities in BRAU
Srikakulam: Officials of B R Ambedkar University (BRAU) were failed to answer clearly on the questions posed by five-member expert team members from the University Grants Commission (UGC), who came to inspect BRAU campus on Thursday for granting 12-B status.
As part of two-day long visit, the UGC team members observed various departments at Science College and later they hold a meeting with VC, registrar and principal of varsity. The team consists of Muralidhar G Chandekar, R N Yadava, David Ambrose, Abhay Kumar and Satish Kumar posed questions to VC K Ramji, Registrar K Raghu Babu and principals and heads of various departments.
They posed questions regarding on establishment of a cell to prevent sexual harassment against women, equal opportunities cell, skill development section, anti-ragging mechanism, separate toilets for transgender persons, lifts and slope floors at all colleges buildings for physically challenged people, placement cells, campus interviews, pass percentage and teachers' profile.
But for most of the questions, BRAU officials unable to provide answers. Arts, commerce, law colleges principal and dean, Gunta Tulasi Rao, university hostels warden, B Addayya and heads of the departments participated in the meeting.
