SFI students stir over high fees in corporate colleges

Tirupati: Student Federation of India (SFI) Tirupati Committee staged a protest on Saturday here against the collecting of high fees in corporate colleges. SFI leaders stirred for more than an hour at Nalugu Kalla Mandapam by displaying placards and raising slogans.

In this connection SFI vice presidents Nagaraju and Prasanna addressing the students said that across the district private college managements are exploiting the parents in the name of fees which was collecting in thousands of rupees. They alleged that private college managements have been collecting high fees by violating the higher education department rules and regulations. SFI leaders criticised private colleges collecting fees in laksh against the government prescribed fees Rs 3000.

In view of the corona, government exempted 30% of fees during the present academic year, but college managements are collecting total fees from the students, they stated.

Further they demanded that the Government should display the fee particulars in every college notice board in view of students interest and to collect the officially prescribed fees from the students. In this regard they submitted a memorandum to regional intermediate board officer, Tirupati. In the stir SFI leaders Sharath, Sanni, Karthi, Mohan, Vijay and others took part.
