Tirupati: Police Seize 90 Logs Of Red Sandalwood at Sri City

In a major haul, Sri City police seized 90 Red Sandalwood logs from a truck on Thursday. The Tirupati police had captured a lorry carrying Red Sandalwood logs at Sri City in Thirumala.

It is reported that the police had unearthed the 90 logs of Red Sandalwood when they were inspecting the vehicles at Sri city police station.

The inspections were launched and carried out by the Sri City Police station house officer Subba Reddy. The team was surprised to find the 90 Red Sandalwood logs hidden in the truck bearing no AP 27 U 9257. The police have arrested the truck driver and the two others in this issue and the probe is on.

This was the biggest seizure of Red Sandal in recent months. However, there is a considerable increase in the cases of smuggling of red sandalwood in the recent past.
