Tirupati-Kalaburagi flight inaugurated

Tirupati: The first flight service between Tirupati and Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) was inaugurated on Monday at Tirupati Airport. On the occasion, the postal department has released a flight carrier special cover.

Airport Director S Suresh, Tirupati division postal superintendent A Sreenivasa Rao, Star Air Manager Naveen and others participated in the programme. These special covers were signed by Ivan, Director of flight operations and captain of the first flight.

Star Air has been operating this direct service from Tirupati to Hubballi and Kalaburagi. While Tirupati-Kalaburagi is a new route, the services between Tirupati and Hubballi were stopped during the Covid pandemic and resumed now.

The flight will depart at Kalaburagi at 9.55 am reach Tirupati at 11 am. In return direction, it leaves Tirupati at 11.25 am and reach Hubballi at 12.30 pm. It leaves Hubballi at 12.55 to reach Tirupati again at 2 pm. It again departs Tirupati at 2.25 pm and arrives Kalaburagi at 3.30 pm, said the Airport Director S Suresh.

It runs on every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the basic fare will be Rs 999. Tirupati postal circle representative Gopalakrishna, V K Ganapathy, J N Vasantha, P Janardhan Naidu and P Reddeppa among others took part in the event.
