Three Maoists surrender in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Three Maoists of Galikonda area committee surrendered before Superintendent of Police, Visakhapatnam Range, Attada Babujee on Thursday.

The Maoists surrendered include Vanthala Ramu alias Bangararaju (29), ACM of Galikonda dalam, Pangi Laxman (32), Galikonda dalam member and Golluri Devi alias Jyothi, another dalam member.

Speaking to the media, Attada Babujee said Vanthala Ramu was involved in various offences, including five murders and a couple of land mine blasting. While Pangi Laxman was involved in offences like exchange of fire and blasting, Jyothi was involved in a murder, exchange of fire and arson.

Vanthala Ramu said he got influenced by dalam members and joined the Maoist outfit in 2009 and grew up to the rank of ACM. "Since we were not able to get enough food for days and our health getting deteriorated, we decided to surrender and live with our parents for the rest of our lives," he stated, brushing aside the talk of having any differences within the dalam members.
