Those projecting Amaravati in bad light will not be spared: Minister
Visakhapatnam: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha expressed that there is a conspiracy brewing behind the comments made on the state capital Amaravati and the masterminds who are behind it will soon be exposed.
Speaking to the media in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, she warned that strict action would be taken against those who speak in a deteriorating manner damaging the brand image of Andhra Pradesh. “It is unforgivable to note that a few senior journalists spoke ill of Amaravati terming it as ‘capital of prostitution’ and hurting the women of the capital city,” she stated.
Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been jealous of Amaravati right from the beginning and it is apparent that he could not stand the growth taking place in the capital city, she mentioned.
Recalling how the leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council termed Amaravati a crematorium, the Home Minister corrected it stating, “Amaravati means the sacrifice made by thousands of farmers.”
Further, the Home Minister alleged that those who invested in this state during the previous government’s tenure have gone back, and investments are gradually coming back after N Chandrababu Naidu became Chief Minister. She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated reconstruction works for Amaravati.
The Home Minister demanded that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YS Bharathi Reddy should apologise to the people of AP and people of Amaravati for hurting them. She reiterated that action will be taken against those involved in projecting Amaravati in bad light.
