She along with her followers had staged protest on the highway demanding compensation for all farmers whose crops were damaged by the cyclone Nivar.

Akhila Priya held a dharna with his brother Jagat and farmers. The police had asked the protestors to withdraw the dharna stating that there is no permission for protest and due to traffic jam. The police asked all concerned to co-operate. However, the protestors didn't respond.

Akhila Priya warned that if the government neglects to provide water to the farmers, the old faction conditions would return in Allagadda. It is known that the farmers have lost crops due to torrential rains in Andhra Pradesh in the last two months. However, the government on the other hand has assured of providing the crop insurance to the farmers by December end and is gearing up for the same.
