Teacher Transfers: Web option extended till today

Amaravati: The web option facility for teacher transfers has been extended till Thursday, December 17, announced minister for education Audimulapu Suresh while addressing the media at the Secretariat here on Wednesday.

The minister recalled that time for web options expired on Tuesday but following the request of the teachers unions, it was extended till Thursday. So far, 71,947 teachers i.e. 95 per cent, utilised the web option till 1.55 pm on Wednesday including the headmasters who have completed five years services and teachers who have completed eight years service.

The minister said that under compulsory transfer category, 25,129 utilised the option and 1,005 teachers are yet to use it. Under the request category of teachers who have completed two years service, out of 49, 985 teachers 46,818 utilised the option.

He made it clear that the government issued orders only after discussing with the teachers unions and there was no violation of rules in the transfers. "Everything is transparent and there is no question of corruption," he said.

Referring to the CPS issue, the minister said that the government was committed to the implementation of promise to abolish contributory pension scheme.

The Chief Minister appointed a cabinet subcommittee in August, 2019 to study the issue and he was also one of the members of the committee which had met many times, he said. Working committee of secretaries headed by the chief secretary was also appointed, he said.

The minister said that actuarial firm has been appointed to study the insurance premium and risks and allocation of budget and it had submitted its report to the government which is considering the same.

The final list of Jagananna Amma Vodi beneficiaries would be uploaded in the portal on December 20 and every eligible student would be covered. He appealed to all the eligible persons to enroll in village secretariats by December 20.
