Take action in Pulivendula Dalit woman murder case, Chandrababu Naidu urges DGP
Amaravati: Opposition leader and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday condemned the 'rape and murder' of a Dalit woman in Pulivendula in Kadapa district.
Naidu urged the director general of police (DGP) to take stringent action against the culprits responsible for the murder. The public in the State were in the grip of fear because of such atrocious incidents were taking place everywhere.
In a letter addressed to the DGP, the TDP chief said that she was murdered when she went to graze the goats in the vicinity of her village. Law and order was not being implemented in the State. Atrocities were being committed on the Dalits, Adivasis, Muslim minorities and women with the support of the ruling party leaders.
Naidu deplored that there was no security and safety for women in Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's own constituency. There were attempts to protect the guilty persons. Already, in the FIR, the incident was described as having been committed by unidentified persons.
Naidu demanded the DGP to take deterrent action against the culprits so that such ghastly incidents would not recur. Justice should be done to the victims by implementing the laws properly.
