Stone for steel plant in 6 months: Deputy Chief Minister

Kadapa: Deputy Chief Minister SB Amzath Basha said the YSRCP government is keen on establishing steel plant in the district for providing employment to local youth.

Speaking to the media after paying tributes to former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy at YSR memorial in Idupulapaya on Tuesday, Basha said that the State government is planning to perform foundation stone laying ceremony in the next six months and production is proposed to begin within two years.

The Minister mentioned 75 per cent of local youth would be provided jobs in the steel plant. Responding to a question over industrial development in the district, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that several minor and major industrial units which were started during the regime of YS Rajasekhara Reddy had stopped functioning due to various reasons after his death.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be relaunching them very soon with the aim of generating employment, he added. Basha said that the Jagan has initiated several measures for comprehensive development of Muslims in the State.

Earlier, the Minister was accorded warm welcome by district administration.
