Srungavarapu Kota legislator tests positive for Coronavirus

Telangana records over 1,800 coronavirus cases again  

S Kota (Vizianagaram): Kadubandi Srinivasa Rao, YSRCP MLA of Srungavarapu Kota constituency in the district was tested positive for corona. He is the first legislature in the state to be infected with Covid-19.

He returned to India recently from US along with 300 passengers under Vande Bharat programme.

After experiencing some symptoms, he consulted doctors and underwent Truenat tests which indicated positive result. Later, the results and samples were sent to Kakinada for further confirmation. These results are awaited. Apart from the MLA, his gunman was also tested positive.

The MLA has been participating in several programmes and functions for the past few days. Srinivasa Rao stated that he isolated himself now is staying in a private house at Visakhapatnam.

In another case, a tahsildar working at the collectorate is also tested positive. The development has sent the collectorate into panic mode and many employees skipped duties and the entire premises of collectorate were sanitised on Monday.
