Srikakulam: Control room set up for paddy procurement

Srikakulam: In the wake of initial failure and massive criticism on procurement of paddy through paddy purchasing centres (PPC) across the state, the government directed the officials to set up control rooms at district level.

As part of it, a control room was set up at office of the district manager for AP State Civil Supplies Corporation in Srikakulam to receive complaints from farmers directly and resolve them immediately on issues relating to paddy procurement through PPCs.

Farmers can call 08942226526 and register their complaint with the officials directly over phone and officials concerned will respond and resolve it in short duration. On the other hand, Joint Collector K Srinivasulu said that paddy would be procured directly from thrashing floors of the farmers.

The control rooms were set up with an aim to provide minimum support price to farmers for their produce by following quality conditions, the JC stated.
