Solution for the issues of tobacco farmers will be found soon: GVL

Ongole: A best solution will be proposed for the issues being faced by the tobacco farmers to the government after discussing with the stakeholders, announced the BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao. He interacted with the tobacco farmers in the Tangutur and Ongole auction centers and discussed them with the regional managers in the Tobacco Board office in Ongole on Monday.

Speaking to press at Tobacco Board, Narasimha Rao said that the farmers invited him to the auction centers to understand the intensity of their problems. He said that after witnessing their issues, he is committed to find a solution to them. He said that the tobacco farmers are not receiving best price for their product, and also being rejected as the atmospheric conditions influenced in production of low grade tobacco in higher quantities.

He said that he will meet the tobacco board officials, buyers, processors and along with the ministers in the government to see the issues are addressed with a best solution. He said that scarcity of water for crops is the main problem and announced that he will also frequently motivate the state to complete irrigation projects in the state, including the Veligonda in the district on priority. He said that he will also discuss the demand from the farmers to pay compensation to shift to alternate crops and work on an amicable solution.

He claimed that as a native of the district, he gives priority to the issues in the district along with the issues of the state and work for their solution, even by mentioning them in the parliament. He asked the BJP cadre in the state to inspire from the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Tirupati that the elections are over and everyone should strive for the development of the state and nation. He said that he will also be instrumental in the realization of National Investment and Manufacturing Zone at Kanigiri, which is expected to provide lakhs of jobs and develop the infrastructure locally.

He claimed that the central government is in favor of major port at Ramayapatnam as the Dugarajapatnam is announced to be nonviable. He said that the state government should process necessary documentation for the same. He said that the local BJP cadre will see the central government schemes are implemented flawlessly to benefit large number of people.

The BJP leaders including district president PV Krishna Reddy, state vice president Dara Sambaiah, spokesperson Anjaneya Reddy, Kisan Morcha president Suryanarayana Raju, Tobacco Board members Gundala Kondareddy, Kodavati Vasudevarao and others also participated in the program.
