Sithanagaram police station in Vizianagaram made it to the list of 10 top performing police stations in India
Vizianagaram: The Sithanagaram police station in Vizianagaram district made it to the list of 10 top performing police stations in India. The Government of India has awarded the PS for best performance in various aspects including reducing crime, disposal of cases in less time and reducing road accidents, responding, attending cases on time.
Superintendent of Police A R Damodhar stated that Sithanagaram police station was recognised by the Government of India as one of the best police station in the entire country. In this connection, the observation committee of Home Department of Indian Government visited Sithanagaram police station, reviewed the investigations, prevention of crime, maintenance of police station records, providing justice to public, enforcement works, clean and green maintenance of station premises.
The committee has satisfied with works and nominated the police station for the award. The headquarters of state police have identified five police stations from AP for inspection of central committee including three police stations, Budarayavalasa, Parvathipuram Rural and Sithanagaram of the district.
It is a great recognition to Vizianagaram district that three police stations were identified from our district by the state committee for the nominations by reviewing the functioning, crime, prevention, investigations. It means three police stations of this district are the best in the state and Sithanagaram is best one in top 10 police stations of the entire country.
The central committee inspected all the three police stations including two police stations of other districts and sent proposals to Union Government as Sithanagaram is the best one. Accordingly, the Home Department of Union Government recognized Sithanagaram as the best one in top 10 of the entire country and awarded.
In this connection, DGP R P Thakur presented the award to D Sai Krishna, former SI of Sithanagaram and S Krishna Murthy, present SI of Sithanagaram at Mangalagiri and appreciated them for their services.
