Short circuit at Minopharm industry in Pernamitta triggers alarm among locals in Ongole

Ongole: The locals and onlookers were alerted and immediately responded to evacuate the building when they observed dark smoke engulfed the Minopharm, a small pharma industry at Pernamitta in Ongole on Friday afternoon.

The industry is into manufacturing alcohol-based hand sanitizers for a few weeks. The company employees opined that the alcohol stored in the room would have caught fire due to the short circuit and the thick smoke covered the two floors in seconds. The fire trucks reached the spot and controlled the fire and brought the situation under control.

The police and fire department officials registered a case and started the investigation.
