Sanchaita Gajapati Raju thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for putting faith and the responsibilities on her by giving the post. The latest decision has come to a rude shock to former Union minister Ashok Gajapati Raju.

In 1958, PVG Raju was the founding chairman and Ananda Gajapathiraju and Ashok Gajapathiraju were members of the Trust Board. After the death of PVG Raju in 1994, Ananda Gajapatiraju took over the as chairman. Following his death in 2016, Ashok Gajapati Raju has been serving as chairman till yesterday.

However, on Wednesday morning, Sanchaita went on to take oath as the chairperson of Simhachalam Temple trust board. She is the first woman to be appointed as the Chairperson of the Simhachalam Trust Board.
