Eluru: An international forum on 'Recent trends in Physics, Chemistry and allied sciences for sustainable development' was organised at St Teresa College for Women here on Friday.

Keynote speaker Dr K Swamy from Lincoln University, Malaysia said that research studies that were carried out from time to time should be able to give back something to the society. He said just having a mere degree was not enough and outcome based education is the need of the hour. He advised the students to have a clear goal in their career.

Dr Ramakrishna of GITAM University conveyed his best wishes to the conference and the delegates. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ratnakar, Director of IMRF Foundation, appreciated St Teresa college for promoting ethical research. Conference proceedings and a journal were released on the occasion.

Principal Dr Marietta D'Mello welcomed the guests and delegates. Correspondent Sister Lourdu Mary conveyed her best wishes. The Opening remarks were given by the convener of the conference Dr Showrilu.

Dr Ratnakar gave away the IMRF awards. Head of the department of Chemistry, Dr G Jyothi and Dr Nirmala Jyothsna, head of the Department of Physics were present on the dais.
