Rajamahendravaram: LIC staff protest against privatisation of PSUs
Rajamahendravaram: Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) divisional employees staged protest at divisional office in lunch break here on Thursday, as part of their nationwide strike on November 26.
Participating in the protest, union leaders demanded the Centre to rollback its decision to privatise public sector companies which are running successfully.They alleged that the Centre is privatising railways, petroleum, finance,insurance companies and trying to withdraw investments from thesectors.The Centre's decision poses danger to the country andthe future of the public sector companies and lakhs of employeeswill be in doldrums.
LICof India is in number one position in theworld with 42 lakh policy holders and Rs 32 lakh crore worth assetswhich is serving the nation for 64 years. LIC also paid an amountof Rs 10,000 crore to Centretowards taxes, they added.
Union leaders P Satish, MAF Benerjee, G Rambabu, Mathews, G Srinivas,AK Viswanadham, Patnaik, Dorababu, PSN Babu and others were present.
