Proposals sought for revision of property values JC

Eluru: Registration and municipal officials have been asked to make realistic proposals for revision of value of lands and buildings under Eluru Urban Development Authority and municipalities in West Godavari district.

Urban land value revision committee meeting was held at Collectorate on Saturday. Addressing the officials, Joint Collector M Venugopal Reddy said that there is need for deciding realistic value of property in UDA and municipalities as it would be helpful in realising sufficient revenue from property tax and also deciding the compensation correctly for the lands acquired for various purposes.

The JC asked the officials to observe the actual prices of properties being sold and purchased at field level and analyse them with existing market prices of registration department to decide fair and reasonable prices. He asked them to submit the revised proposals for the committee's scrutiny which would take place on July 25.
