Tirupati: A new era will begin from November 1 in the Stamps and Registrations Department as the Government of Andhra Pradesh has geared up for launching online registration system to bring transparency and simplify documentation system.

The new system of registration will make it easy for people to complete their registration requirements with much convenience from their homes through online. This will eliminate all the hassles of waiting for long hours at Sub Registrar offices and can root out corruption.

People can easily fill up their documents without the involvement of document writers and complete the registration process in Sub Registrar offices. The department has provided 16 templates to suit various needs of registrations.

People can choose the right template which suits their registration needs and prepare it by enrolling their details on the website: registration.ap.gov.in Once they upload the filled in document on the website, they will get the time slot during which they have to go to Sub Registrar office and complete the formalities without waiting.

People can go through the registration value, property owner details, encumbrance certificates, registration fees etc., at the time of preparing the document itself. They have to make online payment to pay the required fee, stamp duty and other charges.

After that they need to take a printout of the document either on white paper or stamp paper of any denomination as per the choice of buyers and sellers and the difference of amount if any can be paid as stamp duty.

After successful trial run in Visakhapatnam and Krishna districts it will be implemented in the entire state. In Chittoor district, there are two registration districts with 25 Sub Registrar offices. Balaji Registration district has 12 and Chittoor district has 13 offices which will provide these services to the people.

Speaking to The Hans India, Registrar of Balaji Registrations District C Gangi Reddy has made it clear that the department has conducted awareness meetings in all districts on the new system and one such meeting was held in the district on October 17.

For now, three types of transactions – sale deed, gift deed and settlement can be made online. For the online procedure, one should have computer with internet connection. On the registration.ap.gov.in or IGRS website one has to go to public data entry window and prepare their document.

Gangi Reddy said that among other things the website will provide the details of the nearest Sub Registrar office, list of prohibited properties and market value of the property. For the convenience of those having no computer or internet connection, manual registrations will also continue.

He said that time slot system will save the time of the public. However, document writers were opposing the move as it will adversely affect their livelihood. They held dharnas opposing the online system. A document writer has said that hundreds of writers have been depending on this profession and their families will have to suffer with the new initiative.
