Police dog sniffs out thieves gang; 4 held
Ongole: The gold medalist police canine staff, Shadow proved its mettle by sniffing out the thieves' gang in a case, where no clues were available, announced the Prakasam district police. Explaining about the sensational case, the Ongole II Town CI M Rajesh organised a press meet on Thursday evening.
He said that the Kothapatnam police received a complaint from Bindu Hatcheries of Eethamukkala panchayat that prawns feed worth Rs 2.20 lakh is missing from their premises on Thursday.
Following the orders of SP Siddharth Kaushal, in-charge DSP M Balasundara Rao, Rajesh, Kothapatnam SI M Srinivasa Rao went to the spot along with the dog squad and made the searches immediately. The police dog Shadow, a Belgian Milionis breed sniffed the place and went to the place where the thieves were hiding with the loot.
The police arrested Suraru Simhadri of Perumallapuram in Tindangi mandal of East Godavari district, Rayudu Praveen Paul, Golla Rambabu, Kalina Lovaraju of Vakadaripet in Tindangi mandal of East Godavari district and recovered the prawn feed material.
The SP informed the public that the district police was equipped with the well-trained canine staff and they could make a breakthrough in cases where clues are unavailable. He appreciated the police team in solving the case in just four hours and congratulated the in charge DSP M Balasundara Rao, II Town CI M Rajesh, Kothapatnam SI M Srinivasa Rao, Shadow and its handler S Mastan, dog squad in charge ARSI Srinivasa Rao and others.
