Open House by police to continue up to Oct 21 in Ongole

Students explained on various aspects linked to police department in Ongole on Tuesday

Ongole: As part of the Police Martyrs Commemorations, the Prakasam district police started the Open House program for the school students and public at the Police Kalyanamandapam in Ongole on Tuesday.

In remembrance of the police forces that fought the Chinese army in the country border and had brave deaths on October 21, 1959, the police departments in all states observe Police Martyrs Day on every October 21 and commemorate October 15 to 21 as Police Martyrs Week every year.

After the inauguration of the Open House, the Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin) B Sarath Babu said that the open house was being held to explain the students about the daily activity in the police department and create awareness on the investigation methods, dress and tools and weapons they use for keeping the law and order.

He announced that the Open House will be conducted every day up to October 21 from 09.00 AM to 01.00 PM and from 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM and invited students from various schools and colleges and the common public to visit the exhibition.

He announced that they have conducted the open house program along with the essay writing, cartoon and painting competitions were held in all police stations in the district and prizes will be given to the top performers by the SHOs.

In the open house, the police personnel explained the students about the operation of the drone camera, interceptor vehicle, towing vehicle, bulletproof vehicle, communication vehicle, 207- Vajra vehicle, parts of the ammunition, metal detector, dragon light, bomb disposal equipment, fingerprint system, communication manpack sets, police canine, cell jammer, AK 47, 9mm Glock pistol, .
