Ongole: The Telugu Desam Party Ongole parliamentary constituency president Dr Nukasani Balaji demanded that the government immediately release the person who informed the police about damage to the idols of the Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and nab the real culprits.

He alleged that the police are harassing the informers failing in arresting the miscreants who are causing damages to temples.

Speaking in a press meet at the district TDP office in Ongole, Balaji said that the government has cover its failures in tracing the attackers and vandalizers by quoting various reasons and failed in stopping the subsequent attacks on the temples and Hindu prayer places.

He said that one MaddasaniMoulaali, informed the police and press about the damage to the cement idols on the welcoming arch of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Singarayakonda on Tuesday and the public gathered at the temple to demand the action on the culprits.

Balaji said that the government and police are arresting the informers and people alerting them in the wake of incidents happening in the State, instead of arresting the real attackers and to cover their failure.

He said that police are igniting unnecessary conflict between two religions in Singarayakonda, by seeing the incident from the political angle.

He demanded the government and police to immediately release Moulaali or take responsibility for future incidents when TDP leaders start an agitation for the same.
