Ongole: Left parties urge people to support nation-wide strike

Ongole: The Left parties in the Prakasam district requested the public to support the nation-wide strike call given by the ten trade unions and make the Bharat Bandh on November 26, a success. The district leaders of the communist parties held a common press meet in Ongole on Monday and announced that they are supporting the strike called by the trade unions against the anti-public policies of the Union government.

The CPI district secretary ML Narayana, CPM East Prakasam district secretary Punati Anjaneyulu, CPI ML new democracy district secretary Chittipati Venkateswalu, CPI ML district leader Lalitha Kumari and others participated in the meeting and opined that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought anti-workers and anti-farmers act in the lockdown period despite taking measures to help people recover from the pandemic. They said that Modi will be remembered in the history as the great betrayer of the farmers and workers.

They said that with the acts made by the Modi government, the workers will become slaves and loss all the rights and protections to them brought as a result of agitations and movements for decades. They said that with the three farm acts made by the government, the farmers will eventually become farm workers and will lose their rights to corporate companies. They announced that they are opposing the draconian acts brought by the central government. About 20 crore workers throughout the country are participating in the nation-wide strike on 26.

They also said that by accepting the pressure from the Union government, the state government is introducing meters to the agriculture motors.

They said that they are opposing the move by the state government, which questions the future of the free electricity for agriculture scheme in the state. They said that they are also supporting the strike call by the farmers and farmworkers against the installation of meters to agriculture motors and requested the participation of all people from the rural areas as well.
