Officials told to be alert on seasonal diseases

Ongole: The Prakasam district medical and health officer Dr S Rajyalakshmi ordered the department officials to be alert to curb the seasonal diseases and see that the government programmes are implemented well in their area. She conducted a meeting with the CHOs and HEOs in the Ongole division at her chamber on Wednesday.

Rajyalakshmi ordered the officials to see the neighbourhood clean as the rains have started in the region. She said that the mosquitoes are prone to develop in the waterlogged areas and asked to take up anti larvae activities in all villages to control spread of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria, dengue, filarial and others. She asked the officials to create awareness in the public to clean the drinking water sources, tanks regularly and see they consume only chlorinated water.

The DMHO ordered the officials to create awareness on Janani Suraksha Yojana and see the pregnant women deliver the children at the hospitals only. She asked them to see the unhealthy neonatal babies brought to hospitals and treated under Janani Shushu Suraksha Yojana.

She asked them to explain that the rural mothers get the monetary benefit of Rs 6000 under the Pradhan Mantri Matrutva Vandana Yojana and advised to conduct master health checkups to all women above the age of 30 years.

She asked the officials to conduct awareness programmes on gender equality at the PHC on every Asha Day to the Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, health coordinators and others, with the help of Pre Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994. She asked them to track services being offered at the PHCs and see the ANM DIGI is used to enter the data along with keeping stock of required medicines.

District officials Bellam Narasimha Rao, B Siva Sambireddy, statistical officer MS Prasad, DPHNO Sugunamma, DPO Subbalakshmi, Superintendent Sudheer also participated in the meeting.
