Officials asked to speed up land acquisition for house site pattas

Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Mutyala Raju has asked the officials concerned to give top priority to land acquisition for distribution of house site pattas to the eligible poor in the district.

On Thursday, the Collector conducted a review meeting with the officials on acquisition of land and reviewed the progress. Addressing the officials, he told them to identify the people who voluntarily come forward to donate the land to the government for distribution of house site pattas. Referring to available land and acquired land, Collector asked the officials to do demarcation of house sites, prepare layout plans and select the beneficiaries on lottery basis.

He asked the officials to complete land acquisition by end of February end and send proposals for land acquisition with the prices of land value. He informed that he had got information that 300 cases were filed in courts related to the land acquisition and suggested the officials to take measures to solve the cases at the earliest.

Collector Raju directed the officials to constitute teams with Tahsildar, mandal development officer, panchayat officer, panchayart Raj AE as members of the team. Joint collector Venkata Ramana Reddy, joint collector 2 N Tej Bharat, DRO S Srinivasa Murthy and other officials attended the meeting.
